I’ve sent a few letters to my senators in recent months, so when a letter from Alaska senator Lisa Murkowski landed in mailbox, I expected a run-of-the-mill form letter.
Instead, she was writing about The Secret History!
I’m not sure who told her about my “ability to seamlessly weave history and prose into my compelling narrative,” but talk about a pleasant surprise! So cool!
How cool is that?!
Whaaaaat? You got a letter from a senator for publishing your novel? How cool. That must be some prose!! 🙂
How cool is that!
Maybe you should send her an autographed copy when it comes out?
Way cool. Yeah, send her a copy.
Caroline–Cool, and totally unexpected! I didn't even realize senators sent letters like that!
L.G.-Pretty crazy, eh? My husband said we should frame it and put it next to a letter I have from Theodore Roosevelt. (Although that one isn't written to me).
Bethany–That's what I said!
Renee–I've always said you're a genius. This is just further proof. 🙂
Terra–I think I will!
How awesome! I second Renee's suggestion that you send her a signed copy!
Whoa…how cool! Please post more about this:) Did you write your senator about your book? This is pretty sweet:)
Julie–I've added it to my to-do list!
Mark–I didn't write Senator Murkowski about my book, but there was an article about it in my local newspaper a couple weeks ago. I think that's how she might have heard about it!
Sweet! I'd say that's on occasion to bask for a while, eh?
Wow, so cool!
That is so fun!! And way to go Alaskan legislature for honoring an achievement within the arts!!
