Oh yeah! I totally bought Playmobil’s Egyptian pyramid for my daughter for Christmas. I’m indoctrinating her early into Egyptomania. I gave her life and one day she’s going to have to sit through Liz Taylor’s Cleopatra with me, all 192 minutes of it. (And the HBO series inspired by my book.) I have to have someone to rave to about Hatshepsut, pyramids, and the Valley of the Kings, right?
And you know I’m going to play with this. I might actually have to break into the box before Christmas. I need to, uh… make sure all the parts are there. And that the trapdoor works. Yeah, that’s it.
I’m so excited!
Adults are nothing more than kids wrapped in garments that seem to connote maturity. Bravo to the kid in you!
Um … this is awesome.
Hahahaha!!! My husband and I keep seeing that in the store and wanting to get it for ourselves! We don't have any place to put it though, so, like the giant Millennium Falcon Playset, we aren't able to get one. (sometimes I really wish we had the excuse of children!) But man, I'm so jealous! You'll have to tell us how awesome it is 🙂
That is so cool. I'm going to have to go find that.
Toys R Us was out of them, but Amazon had a few. They were more expensive though- I found it at Playmobil's website and got a free gift too. That was kind of exciting.
They've got pirates and Romans too!
How cool is that? Have fun with it. I know I would! And of course you have to open it early. You have to get all those crazy ties undone so the playing can commence the moment she opens it on Christmas. 🙂
Hi Anissa!
Ugh! I hate all those ties on toys. I still haven't figured out why toy manufacturers are so intent on torturing parents. On one of my daughters Mr. Potato Head sets there were over 20 twisty ties locking each piece in place. It was awful!
And yet, that is a good excuse for me having to open the Egypt set early. 🙂 Good thinking!
I find if you are passionate and excited about something so will your children. And how cool is it that you teaching her egyptian history too.
Cripes, now I'm jealous, haha. A trap door?? Seriously?? I'm so getting me one of those!
Also- I have a version of Cleopatra on netflix right now that's around 240 minutes– that's over four hours! I wonder what the different is between the two? (I've never seen it before– trying to convince WB to watch it with me 🙂 )
Ohhh… L.T.- You've got the director's cut! I think that's the one on the most recent DVD release. I'll have to check my copy at home- it's been years since I watched it!
