From now until Christmas, I’m going to make an effort every day to highlight blogs I love. (Thanks for the idea, Tamika!) There might be a theme, there might be one, or two, or three blogs- I’m not setting any rules because I just want to have fun and give a shout out to some amazing sites I love to browse.
Today I have two, both with an artsy flair.
I am head over heels in love with the angels at Lisa at Scherer Art. I like to pretend I can paint, but this woman has talent! I adore Serena, the angel Lisa has offered up for the holidays, and the blue Madonna. I was literally drooling as I scoured her site to find out if they were available, but alas! It doesn’t appear that they are.
My second favorite artsy blog has a tasty name and some gorgeous photos and poetry. I like to visit Terresa at The Chocolate Chip Waffle when I need creative inspiration. Her prose and poetry put mine to shame and recently she’s done a fantabulous job with posts reminding the rest of us to appreciate the little things in life.
In keeping with Terresa’s posts, I so very much appreciate some little things from today: a single kiss from my husband (we don’t see each other on Thursdays), hugs from my daughter’s little arms, dark chocolate sea salt covered cashews, and a glorious foggy sunset I could see in full from my mountain perch above the clouds.
What little things do you appreciate from your week?
Having two nights off this week so I can actually see my wife right when she gets home from work, chocolate sandwich cookies with candy cane filling, and a slowdown at the office that allows me to write.
Ugh. More blogs to help me procrastinate. No, really, thanks, Steph! I love finding out about new folks in the blogosphere.
As for things to appreciate, hmm… that's what my blog's all about – simple pleasures like yummy food, fun travels, my supportive hubby, my adorable kitty, and so much more. At the moment, I'm appreciative of getting up earlier than expected. More time to surf the blogs!
My morning meditations, the moment upon awaking when I see my husband, the spark I feel when I sit down to write my novel-in-progress, reading the latest great book, and logging onto the blogosphere both through writing for my own blog and reading others's blogs. Those are all great moments.
Isn't Terresa's blog beautiful?! I love it, too.
Hmmm… An early dismissal day at school, it's Friday, looking forward to naps. 😉
Every night when I go to bed I say "thank you." If I'm wrapped up tight and comfy in bed, it's been a good day.
Thanks for the links. I'll have to check them out. I've appreciated all the holiday greeting cards I've received this week. It's fun to hear from people I haven't seen or talked to in months or even years.
Thanks for the links – there's never enough art in my life! I do a similar thing on Sundays, called the Sunday Foreign Post Roundup. And this week you'll be featured! I like to include any new blogs I have discovered during the week, and any particularly witty posts – you fit both bills.
More links to keep me busy…Just what I needed!

Ditto what Laura said. Thanks for sharing.
, really, thanks, Steph! I love finding out about new folks in the blogosphere.
Work from home India
I love Lisa's angels too!
I'll have to check out the other links 🙂
Just the title of The Chocolate Chip Waffle is enough to pull me in! Thanks for sharing.
K.M.- I know, doesn't it sound tasty? I could go for a waffle right now!
L.T. Host- I wish I could paint like Lisa!
Sanjeet- You're welcome! I hope you'll like those ones.
Bane & Laura- I almost listed a ton of food on my appreciation list, but stopped myself. 🙂 And traveling is the best!
Michele- Thanks! Now I have something extra to look forward to on Sunday!
Susan- I just sent my Christmas cards out. I'm a little behind schedule this year, but not too bad.
Steph- I like that! I should start doing that too.
Judith- I'm definitely appreciating having time to read this week. It looks like I'll be able to mark two off my list.
Matt- Those cookies sound heavenly!
Shannon- I'm so jealous of your short day! I only have one more week and then two weeks off. Hurray for a teacher's schedule!
I appreciate comments on my blogs… It's the little things like that which make my day.
Otherwise, I appreciate my beautiful bride to be. She brightens my day with her smiles. OOH OOH and my dearest mother. She's so deserving of appreciation!
Thanks for the recommendations! I will have to check these blogs out 🙂
I'm thankful I didn't have Biology Lab this morning and could sleep in!! This was a very, very good thing because my characters kept me up 'til 5 this morning! I'm also thankful for the information the characters gave me because I now have a rough synopsis of the WIP I'm working on 🙂
Those blogs are both really cool! Thanks for the links!
I'm taking care of a neighbor's dog and I appreciate the unconditional love from a furry friend!!
I follow Terresa's blog and as for the things I appreciate well that's ease friends oh and tropical holidays.
You have a brilliant weekend.
I love Terresa's blog too! My kids have been sick this week, so we've had a lot of movie snuggle time, which is always good.
I finally finished my finals this week and treated myself to a B&N date.
Thanks for the shout out, it means a lot to me. {I'm just coming to this post now, catching up on my blog reading.} Happy happy joy joy!!
Here is the link to today's post! You are featured.

Oh my. I finally had a minute to get online and visit some blogs and I am delighted to see that I am mentioned in your post! You are a sweetheart for saying such kind things.
Okay, now to answer your question what small things do I appreciate from my week. I appreciate my husband going to work for his family and not complaining about it. I appreciate the feel of the recliner when I sit down for the night, as well as the cup of Chamomile tea I sip for relaxation.
