The HAIKU BLOGFEST is here!
I’m super excited to see what everyone has come up with- the links are down below and of course, you can still sign up. The blogfest runs Friday and Saturday!
Here’s my entry for Hatshepsut:
Woman on man’s throne,
Monumental, strong, silent,
Egypt’s female king.
And here’s one of my favorite haikus- I found it on a greeting card a long time ago:
Snowflakes on petals,
the beautiful blossoms laugh,
loving the surprise.
Enjoy the blogfest, everyone!

Haiku's can be challenging to write. I truly like yours.
Come check mine out. Plus there is one carved into rock at the start of my post. Roland
What?! it's the third already?!?! How did that HAPPEN?!
okay, I am going to have to post mine for Saturday 🙂
Yours encapsulates Hatshepsut quite nicely! I also enjoyed the internet Zen Haiku up top. haha.
I'm with Amalia, I can't believe it's already the 3rd of September!
Your haiku was great; girl power!

okay, I lied! I got mine up! 🙂 It's terrible, fair warning!
Nice! Yours really captures what I think of your novel. I'm just double checking mine – will post very soon! 🙂
No haiku at the blog
Will just leave one here
Words to connect friends
Sorry, lame for right off the top of the head, and only 1/2 a cup of coffee so far. 🙂
Here from KarenG's. Nice to "meet" ya! LOVE poetry – especially VisPo.
nice one!
Girl power! Nice job, Stephanie, and this is a wonderful idea for a blogfest. I got mine up and will post another tomorrow. Two days of haiku bursts–my idea of fun.
First, thank you for the awesome blogfest! For once I may get through all the participants in a single day. Second, I love your haiku. You've captured the essence of Hat's strength. Superbly done! Third, I apologize in advance for mine.
This was such a great idea. I'm sorry I couldn't participate- but I have read yours and several others and its fantastic!
What a great idea for a blogfest! Thanks for putting this together Stephanie. I suppose I'd better come up with something.
Oh, I love BOTH of those Haiku Stephanie, especially your Hatshepsut one! 🙂
Egyptian haiku…I love it! It's awesome seeing everything people have come up with so far. I've posted mine today as instructed: http://nocestories.blogspot.com/ Thanks:)
You have an awesome blog! LOVE IT! Found you from KarenG. I'll definitely be back!
This is so totally awesome! I just happened to catch this contest when I read Amalia's! I got very excited!
I love this blogfest because haiku can be fun and beautiful, but it's also a quick trip through everyone's entries and I have plenty of time to read and comment on them!
I love yours. And Hatshepsut is a fascinating historial figure. It will be interesting to see your take on her!
Hey, dropping by from KarenG's. It will be fun to check out your blog. I love to meet other writerly folks.
Have a good day. 🙂
Came over from KarenG's BBQ. I'm now a follower and will return. I love Haiku. I've written some that I think are pretty good.

Cool idea! I'm intrigued by the challenge of encapsulating characters (and plots) in haikus. Going to give it a go today!
Visiting you from KarenG's BBQ! Looks great over here and am following!

I forgot to say–hello, fellow history teacher. I teach early American history at the college level–it's always great to run into other historians also engaged in fiction writing! 🙂
last minute joiner. Thanks. Glad it's running two days.
Stephanie, yes, chocolate and wine always go together!
Both of your haikus were good. Very neat blogfest.

Thoughts in Progress
Wonderful idea for a blogfest (my first blogfest, yay!), and it's been great all reading the entries. Your Hatshepsut haiku really summed her up perfectly!
Beautifully done! Mine's going up on my sidebar….now. I mean…now.
You have a great blog here. Sorry I'm not good at haiku or I would join. I'm now a follower over from Karen's BBQ

Love your haiku. I just stopped by from Karen's BBQ. If I can think up a haiku today, I'll do that too.
hi – yay haiku jam…I'll make one up tomorrow but for now:

Came by after Karen's BBQ! Great blog – love haiku but will pass on this one!
temporarily
at a loss for post topic
I take a brief break
Love the second one, but I have a soft spot for the first one as I am an ancient egyptian fanatic.
Yay! I finally had a chance to post my haiku. Very rushed, but it's not the crappiest I've written. Close, but not quite. 😀
Thank you Stephanie for hosting a fantastic blogfest!
Fantastic haiku, everyone! And of course, thank you, Stephanie, for hosting such a fun blogfest!
Great haiku Stephanie!! Thought this looked fun and decided to join. Better late than never, right? =D Thanks for hosting.
I've been running across some of the haiku participants as I'm visiting BBQ Party-goers. Dang you guys are good! I'm not a haiku writer, but I appreciate those who are, especially when they go along with art or photography. Love those!
Very cool entry! Powerful and simple, true to Haiku tradition. I also like the second one, it made me smile!
Thank you for hosting this 'fest,
major coolness found
on hatshepsut's lovely blog
Stephanie is great!
; )
I am almost positive I have approached this blogfest the wrong way but I have posted the following haiku just above my regular posts. So FYI this is what I said:
multicultural
does not describe me fully
it is where to start
Hi Stephanie,
I'm enjoying the KarenGs BBQ party – actually dropping in for some choc torte and wine!
I do love Haikus but am yet to pen a good one.
Happy writing! 😉
Thanks for hosting this Stephanie. It's good fun! Love you haiku.
Great Haiku. Came over from the BBQ blogfest, now I'm going to have to visit some of my friends sites I see that have entered to check there's out! Nice to meet you! 😀
Woohoo! What a lot of new faces! Thanks to everyone who dropped by and a huge thank you to everyone who haikued. (Don't use that in Scrabble!)
I hope you all have a splendiferously long weekend!
thanks for visiting Stephanie
I like the Zen haiku- maybe it should be a standard page instead of '404 error- page not found'
