A while back as I was writing Hatshepsut, I wondered what handful of words would best describe her. The list?
Temperamental, dutiful, loyal, passionate.
Oh. My. God.
Hatshepsut is a Klingon! (Yes, I am a nerd. Like you didn’t know that already.) She’s Worf with a little Picard thrown in for some extra elitism. (Yes, I only watch The Next Generation. I’m a picky Trekky.)
My latest protagonist? She’s Q. *cue evil laugh* With a little Riker thrown in for that playboy edge.
Can you tell I’m having fun writing her?
I absolutely loved watching Q, and you can tell the writers enjoyed coming up with crazy stuff for him to do.
Too awesome.
Q was a great character, though things definitely got a little outlandish when he showed up naked that one time 🙂
Hahaha!!! Awesome! I love it!
Q and Riker is a mashup I'd love to see!
One of my favorite books ever was Q-in-Law. It's the only Trek fiction I've ever read.
TNG really was the best of the series. I wish they'd had Q in one of the movies. Sigh.
Bane, that was one of the best Q eps ever! When Guinan stabs him with a fork! LOL all over the place. And when he describes falling asleep. Ha!
Oh, Qpid was a funny one too.
Sorry, Stephanie, for hijacking the comments. I'll stop now.
I was thinking about Q just the other day. He was my favorite frenemy for the NG crew.
I'm very intrigued by your new MC if she's like him 🙂
I can tell you are having a blast! And that my friend, is the best kind of writing.
Have fun exploring your character, she is already piqued my interest!
I love all the Q episodes, especially the later ones. He was a total hoot. 🙂
My MC isn't quite as crazy as Q (lacking the omnipotent, omnipresent powers), but I'd say she was wild for her day. She makes me laugh so I hope she makes my readers laugh too!
Hatshepsut huh, interesting. I watched a documentary on her I think. I love star trek the next generation. None of the other star treks compare. The hubbie tries to convince me otherwise.
